Indianola, IA - July 15, 2024 – Head men's basketball coach Kyle Jones announces the addition of Denny McDonnell as an assistant coach for the Simpson College men's basketball program. Denny brings with him over 20 years of coaching experience, demonstrating a steadfast commitment to developing young athletes both on and off the court.

McDonnell's extensive coaching career includes serving as the Men's Assistant Coach at North High School in Des Moines and the Girls' Basketball Coach at Valley High School in West Des Moines. 

"Denny brings commitment, experience and enthusiasm to our basketball program,” said Kyle Jones, Head Men's Basketball Coach, "We look forward to having him join our coaching staff and our Simpson Basketball Family!" 

McDonnell is the founder of the 4VLegacy development basketball program in Central Iowa. This program is dedicated to offering private instructional basketball skill development for young athletes aged 8-18, a venture Denny will continue to manage alongside his new role at Simpson."It is an honor to be a part of the Storm Men’s Basketball coaching staff, and I look forward to helping build the program," said McDonnell.

Having played basketball at the collegiate level, Denny brings firsthand experience and a wealth of knowledge to the Simpson College basketball program.
